Why Update the iPhone?

Why update the iPhone? If you asked yourself this question, you may also be wondering why, close to the release of new updates, you happen to read people who are waiting to do it .

The iPhone, like all other types of smartphones, is driven by an operating system that brings together two fundamental components : hardware and software.

With the passage of time and the development of new technologies, the software can become obsolete and needs to be updated to function .
So here is an explanation of why to update the iPhone and how to do it correctly.

What are iPhone Updates for?

As previously mentioned, iPhones work with an operating system that, in order to function properly, causes actions to be performed by the hardware through the indications of the software .
Sometimes these get "old" and create bugs .
Or some developers put on the network operations that are not compliant with the Apple world such as jailbreak and Cydia .

In these circumstances, bugs and operating problems may occur or the system must adapt to new communication protocols which, otherwise, would invalidate the correct use of the device.
These are all the reasons why the iPhone operating system, Ios, needs to be updated .
With the updates, you also get new functions and ensure that the device works perfectly in complete safety.

If you have heard of people waiting to update the iPhone this may have been due to defects and bugs for which, in some cases, waiting for the correction of the problems has proved safer .
So some people are waiting for the problems to be officially resolved before updating.
In any case it is always good to update to the new operating system.

If you have an old iPhone you may have space and operating problems and, only in these cases, it is better to stick to the old update .

However, the iPhone may have some small problems and therefore, slowly arrive at the moment when it will be changed.

How to Check for iPhone Updates

Before making any updates, you should always make a backup via iCloud or on your PC.

In cases where the iPhone shows you a message warning you that a new update is ready you will need to tap on Install Now .

At this point you will have to connect it to the power supply and connect it to Wi-Fi .
Entering the Settings , General , you will find the iPhone  Software Update item .
At this point you will need to tap on Download and Install .

More space may be needed and you will then see a message asking you to temporarily remove some apps.

After the update, the removed apps will be restored.
To update immediately just touch directly on Install.

You can also postpone the update by tapping on After , or on Install Tonight and Remind me later .
In these cases you will still have to take care to leave the device charging and connected to a Wi-Fi.
If you are asked for a code, that is the numerical sequence in which you usually unlock the device.
With iOs 12 and later you can automatically update your device.

To set this function go to Settings and then to General .
Tap on Software Update and then on Automatic Updates .
The device will automatically update to the latest version of ios.
